Your First Waxing
Well done for getting this far. You are now just a few steps away from having the look you have been longing for.
You will be asked to complete a short consultation form, detailing any medication you may be taking, any recent operations or injuries or illnesses. It is important to give as much information as possible, so that your therapist can best advise you, and perform the treatment. All information is treated with confidentiality, and is never shared with any third party, unless your express wish or consent is given.
Once completed, your therapist will discuss any issues raised on your consultation form, and will answer any questions that you may have. You will then be shown the wax that will be used for your treatment, and the therapist will demo how this is applied and removed.
Your therapist will then tell you what clothing needs to be removed in order for them to get to the areas to be waxed, and will leave you to undress, and inform you to lay/sit on the treatment couch. In a few moments, your therapist will come back into the room and begin the treatment.
Your skin will be cleansed with a special cleansing agent, to prepare it for the treatment, and a very small amount of jasmine oil will also be applied to the area. This helps to make the removal of the wax as comfortable as possible for you, making sure the wax sticks to the hair, not the skin.
The wax will be applied, in the directon of the hair growth, and dependant upon the wax being used, will be pulled directly off in the opposite direction, or a paper strip will be applied over the wax and then the strip will be pulled off quickly, removing the wax, and hair.
The wax is removed quickly, to minimise any discomfort, and the therapist will place his hand on the freshly waxed area immediately after for a few seconds to calm the area.
You may be asked adopt different positions throughout the process, to enable the hair to be removed as quickly and efficiently as possible. You may also be asked to assist with holding, or stretching the skin on the area to be waxed – this will certainly be the case with any intimate waxing. It is very important that the skin is stretched tight when removing the wax, to avoid any problems.
You may notice some redness, or raised pimpleson the freshly waxed area, but, please be assured, this is perfectly normal, and usually settles quickly. Your therapist will apply either a soothing cream or gel to the waxed area, once the treatment is completed – this helps with any redness or raised pimples.
You will then be given aftercare advice which you need to follow for the next 24 to 48 hours. Please see our online aftercare sheets.
You may purchase some of the lotion applied after the waxing from us at a very reasonable charge to apply for the next 2-3 days.
It is recommended that you then book your next appointment, or ask to be put onto our re-call system, to ensure you maintain your new clean look.
